NCP (aka COVID-19)

To better support the front-line medical staff at Fudan-affiliated hospitals to carry out the epidemic prevention and control work, the Alumni Association of Fudan University and the Shanghai Fudan University Education Development Foundation co-established the “Fudan University Anti-NCP Medical Fund” on Jan. 29th.

By 3:00 pm on Feb. 12th, the foundation has received 1,341 small donations (those under 10,000 yuan each), with a total sum of 787,700 yuan. In terms of major donations, pledges received by the Foundation have reached nearly 7 million yuan, with 2.86 million yuan already remitted into the fund’s account. A total of 3.6477 million yuan of donation has been received for the project.

On Feb. 3rd, the Foundation made the first payment of 1.33 million yuan to the Fudan medical teams that had been sent to Wuhan, and the front-line medical staff at the two university-affiliated hospitals tasked with the treatment of NCP (COVID-19) patients in Shanghai.

By the night of Feb. 16th, Fudan University and affiliated hospitals have sent altogether 444 medics and staff to Wuhan, leaving their families behind and risking their lives for patients there. As sufficient medical supplies and funds are critical to the success of this operation and the safety of the 444 Fudaners, here we call on everyone on and off the Fudan community to render their support to protect our guardian angels!

The fund will be used for the following purposes:

1. To support the medical team from affiliated hospitals of Fudan University sent to Wuhan.

2. To support the front-line medical, technical professionals and logistical support personnel of two affiliated hospitals of Fudan University (Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center and Children’s Hospital of Fudan University), which are have been designated for the treatment of NCP (COVID-19) patients in Shanghai.

3. To support the front-line medical staff working at the designated 12 fever clinics in the affiliated hospitals of Fudan University.
