On the morning of December 10th, 2016, the 2nd International Seminar on Cross-Cultural Communication of Chinese Language hosted by International Cultural Exchange School of Fudan University was held at Yifu Building of Science and Technology.
The seminar focused on cross-cultural communication of Chinese language in a multi-cultural environmen. The issues discussed included studies on national language policies and Chinese language communication model, Chinese language teaching based on theory of multiple intelligences, Chinese language learning in a multi-cultural environment, cross-cultural studies on Chinese language communication, and the relation between Chinese studies and second language teaching. The seminar has received nearly 100 papers, and 87 scholars from China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, the United States and Canada presented their work during the seminar.
In the two-day seminar, four plenary lecture sessions, two thematic forums, and four group discussions were arranged. The participants made in-depth academic exchanges on relevant issues and 20 well-known authorities in the field delivered keynote speeches. The papers of the seminar will be published on Journal of Sinolgy by Fudan University Press.
The 3rd International Seminar on Cross-Cultural Communication of Chinese Language will be held in 2018.
