Fudan University signs MoU with Cambridge University

On September 11, President Xu Ningsheng signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Stephen Toope, Vice-chancellor of Cambridge University, accompanied by Eilís Ferran, Pro-vice-chancellor of Cambridge University, Peter Phillip, CEO of Cambridge University Press, Prof. Chu Daping, Director of Cambridge University-Nanjing Center of Technology and Innovation and other delegates concerned. According to the memorandum, cooperation on academic research will be promoted in, but not restricted, cognitive neuroscience, mental health, ancient civilization, futuristic philosophy, etc.

President Xu reviewed the history of cooperation between the two sides. In his address, Xu highly valued the progress in mutual exchanges and believed that the memorandum would witness deeper collaboration. Vice President Chen Zhimin gave an introduction of Fudan University development plan to the guests, highlighting key-projects of each of our four campuses.

  

President Toope hoped to enhance substantial cooperation, especially in key disciplines, and promote further cooperation in humanities research. He also looked forward to more student exchanges between the two sides. Prof. Ferran emphasized on the possibility to enhance the cooperation in global humanities. Cambridge University Press expressed their hope for publication collaboration.
