US Consul General in Shanghai visits Fudan

Consul General of the United States in Shanghai James Heller visited Fudan University on February 18.



President of Fudan University Jin Li extended his welcome to James Heller. He looked back at the past exchanges and collaborations between Fudan University and top US universities such as  Harvard University and Yale University, and emphasized the importance of university cooperation and youth exchanges between the two countries. Jin said, Fudan will continue to deepen exchanges with US universities, strengthen joint research and joint training, and boost the mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.


The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the issuance of Joint Communiqué between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China. Heller thanked Fudan for its effort to prepare a commemorative seminar. He said that the US Consulate General in Shanghai is committed to strengthening cultural and educational cooperation between China and the US, and is willing to facilitate exchanges between Fudan University and US universities.



The meeting was also attended by Cultural Consul Den Hoopingarner and Political Consul Jack Dart on the U.S. side, and Vice President Chen Zhimin, Director of Center for American Studies Wu Xinbo and Director of Office of Global Partnerships Lu Li’an on Fudan side.
