On October 14, the 20th Anniversary of the Fudan-Waseda International Dual Degree Program was celebrated at Waseda University in Tokyo, along with the official inauguration of the Fudan News Hall (Tokyo).
During the event, Fudan University and Waseda University signed an agreement aimed at expanding and deepening the collaboration. Both institutions committed to advancing the dual degree program by progressively transitioning from a program that confers only the degree certificate to both the degree certificate and the diploma certificate, signaling a new phase in their educational cooperation.
This year also marks the 95th anniversary of School of Journalism, Fudan University. To commemorate this milestone, the Tokyo branch of the alumni association of the School of Journalism, Fudan University, organized a salon for its Tokyo-based members.
Launched in 2004, the Fudan-Waseda International Dual Degree Program was Fudan University's first international undergraduate dual degree. Over the past two decades, the program has cultivated a significant number of professionals equipped with global perspectives and cross-cultural communication skills. The graduates now hold prominent positions in many prestigious media organizations throughout the world, such as NHK, the Asahi Shimbun, the Yomiuri Shimbun, and Nikkei, as well as in Fortune 500 corporations and government agencies. Many have also played crucial roles in advancing China-Japan cultural exchange and enhancing global communication.
The 20th anniversary ceremony marks an important milestone in the continued cooperation between the two universities, reaffirming their shared commitment to promote international education and cultural exchange.
